Connect to TinyPilot via Ethernet directly from the Mac, without router
- @cghague
Is there a way to do it? I'm trying to but I don't know much about networks and I'm struggling.

Hi @warsenp, thanks for your question about connecting a TinyPilot device directly to a Mac using Ethernet. It's certainly possible to do this, but the best approach will vary depending on your circumstances.
Can you please provide more context on what you're hoping to do? For example, do you want to share an Internet connection from the Mac with the TinyPilot device, or is this a temporary measure for configuring the TinyPilot device?
I have both the Windows PC that I control with the TinyPilot and the Mac that I am connecting to TinyPilot from with me. Currently I am travelling, which means I don't always have access to a router. It would be nice to just be able to connect to TinyPilot directly, without any router.
I managed to connect, but the thing you mentioned about sharing an Internet connection from my Mac to TinyPilot sounds interesting. How can that be achieved?

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm glad you were able to connect.
You can share your Mac's Internet connection with your TinyPilot device over Ethernet or Wi-Fi. To do this, first set up connection sharing on your Mac, then either wire your TinyPilot device to your Mac using an Ethernet cable or connect your TinyPilot device to the Mac's Wi-Fi hotspot.
I hope this is helpful!
