USB - what to do they show up as?

If I connect the tiny pilot - what does the device show in device manager? Is it 'Tiny Pilot' or USB Key board /mouse?

Would I need admin privileges on my work machine to change this?

Hi @RobFly221, thanks for your questions.

We have an FAQ that covers most of these.

what does the device show in device manager? Is it 'Tiny Pilot' or USB Key board /mouse?

From the FAQ, TinyPilot appears as a USB hub with the following attached:

      • A Generic Plug 'n Play Monitor (for video output),
      • A generic USB keyboard
      • A generic USB mouse
      • A USB mass storage device / thumb drive with the name TinyPilot (Pro only)
        • Only when you explicitly mount virtual media

You're free to edit TinyPilot's USB identifiers if you want, but these changes are not supported - when you perform a TinyPilot software update, the update will overwrite any changes to the USB configuration files.

That FAQ also explains how to adjust the audio device name TinyPilot displays on Windows. I don't believe this requires admin permissions, but I cannot test this.

      I hope that helps!
