Original RasbPI 4 TinyPilot with 2.6.5?
- @cghague
Hello,
I have two TinyPilot kits I bought in 2021 that I ended up not using back then and recently found a need, so as I was trying to set one of them up, I first tried to upgrade within the GUI and it got to v2.4.0, but kept failing when trying to go to v2.4.5. So I reupped and downloaded the v2.6.5 release and loaded it onto a microSD card. It boots fine, but the system that was previously working is now showing "No Signal" and nothing seems to change it. Are the original TinyPilot's not compatible with v2.6.5?

Hi John, thanks for your message. I'm sorry you're having trouble using TinyPilot Pro 2.6.5 with your TinyPilot kits. TinyPilot Pro 2.6.5 is compatible with all the models we've sold so far, so we'll need to investigate this further.
The logs you provided show that you're using the "Voyager" version of the TinyPilot Pro disk image. However, if you're using one of the earlier kits that shipped with a USB HDMI adapter, you'll need to use the "hobbyist" TinyPilot Pro disk image instead.
Can you please try re-flashing the microSD card with the "hobbyist" disk image and let me know how it goes? After entering your details, you can get the "hobbyist" disk image from our downloads page.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware that there was a difference. There doesn't seem to be a post describing the various "versions" of hardware you've shipped versus software versions. I've downloaded and install the "hobbyist" image and tried booting that, but it also leaves me with a black screen that very occasionally flashes some text or something that looks like it might be screen video.

I've tried a few different cables and found one that works now, so it must somehow be a signal problem that is exacerbated by running with 2.6.5. v2.4.0 worked fine with the old cable. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for replying; I'm pleased you're back up and running! The download page should highlight the difference between the two disk images, but I agree we could make it clearer. I'll talk with the team and see if we can improve it; thanks for the feedback!
