No Video Signal on TinyPilot via Local and SSH
- @david
Hi all, I'm completely new to tinypilot and kvm and looking for some help with an issue. I set up the TP today and connected to a mini pc I bought and everything was working great on the local network. Then I setup SSH and tailscale and was able to access remotely, everything was working fine. The issue started when I rebooted the mini pc for a software update. It was taking a while but I was still able to wake the screen when needed. Eventually it lost signal. I had no usb keyboard, mouse or monitor to plug into the mini pic to see what was going on so eventually I unplugged everything.
I hooked the mini pc up to my TV and had the tinypilot plugged in as well. I was able to control the mouse and keyboard but wasn't getting video, even when unplugging the second HDMI and just connecting to the TP all I got was "no signal". Eventually I borrowed a usb mouse and keyboard and reset the pc to factory settings and reconnected the tinypilot. Everything was showing connected but still no video signal. Hooking the PC up to a monitor it was working fine.
I have no experience with any of this kind of stuff and am hoping to try and figure out if the issue is with the PC or tinypilot. See log below. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

Update, I've attached the TinyPilot to a mac desktop computer and it's the same issue. I can see the mouse being controlled on the target computer and the keyboard works but I'm still getting no signal through the tinypilot and can't see any video. Yes, I've used multiple hdmi cords.

Hi @aglapa, I'm sorry you're running into this No Signal issue.
Thanks for sharing those details and those logs!
Your first log suggests your mini PC is outputting a 1920x1080 resolution signal at 60Hz (
1920x1080p60.00
). Unfortunately, TinyPilot doesn't support that display setting, which would explain why you're receiving the No Signal message.Normally, your target machine and your TinyPilot will negotiate the most suitable display setting that each device supports. But for some reason, it doesn't sound like this negotiation is happening. If you're mirroring a physical display that's running at 1080p 60Hz, that could explain why this negotiation isn't happening, since the monitor has already negotiated the resolution and refresh rate.
If you connect your mini PC (or your Mac) to a monitor and navigate to its display settings, can you adjust the output resolution to your TinyPilot to 1920x1080 at 30Hz or 50Hz? If you can't select the refresh rate, could you try selecting 1280x720 just to check that your TinyPilot can successfully receive and display a signal?
Please let me know if you have any questions.
