Can't Install TinyPilot to save my life

    Hello all,

I have been attempting to install TinyPilot on a Pi 5 and I am struggling hard. Running ubuntu desktop just trying to get this to install on any os. I am able to SSH into the Pi and have no network issues at the moment. Had issues with raspberry pi os and just opted to switch to Ubuntu. I have run the curl command to grab get-tinypilot.sh and can run that through bash but it seems as though it's working. It seemed as though some content was missing so I opted for a wget and that also didn't seem right so I did a git clone. After doing the git clone I believe that I have most if not all of the content needed, but struggling at the point to start the tinypilot service.

In my last attempt I manually created the tinypilot service and was getting somewhere until I ran into errors installing greenwheel. Opted to manually install greenwheel and got that sorted, still failing starting tinypilot.service. I'm not a regular linux user so there is a high chance I'm missing something at every step so I'm just looking for a direction to go as I am stumped as heck.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ian

Hi @candles, thanks for your question about running TinyPilot on the Raspberry Pi 5 with Ubuntu.

Unfortunately, we only support the Raspberry Pi 4B running Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye. We do have tickets open to look into supporting Raspberry Pi OS Bookworm, but I don't have a timescale yet. We don't have any plans to support other operating systems at this point.

I appreciate this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but please subscribe to the linked issues if you'd like to keep updated on our progress.
