Is Power-over-Ethernet in use? can you tell remotely?

    Hello!
I got my TinyPilot Voyager 2a PoE and it is working great. I'm using the wall plug for power for now.

Does there happen to be a way to query the TinyPilot from the linux command line and tell if the Power-over-ethernet is also being supplied? I'm not near the installation (its 4000 miles away and a friend installed it) to just try unplugging it :) but I'm curious.

    Thanks!
    Jason

Hi @jason2, thanks for your question!

There isn't a way to do this as far as I know. The PoE implementation is entirely hardware based, so there's no software interface here.

From a quick test, USB-C power seems to take priority over PoE. For example, if you connect USB-C power and PoE and then remove the USB-C power, your TinyPilot will power off before PoE starts powering the device (it's not possible to remove USB-C power and have PoE 'take over' without losing power to the device).

I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
