Tinypilot is not working

I've been using TinyPilot for the past nine months.

My current setup remains unchanged since the initial installation.

This afternoon, TinyPilot suddenly stopped working. When I attempted to SSH into it, I received a "connection refused" error. Without wasting any time, I performed a factory reset, a process I am familiar with, as I have done it multiple times before.

Strangely, even after the factory reset, I am unable to connect to tinypilot.local. I also tried accessing it via the locally assigned IP, tinypilot/, and tinypilot.localdomain/, but the UI still does not load. I am connected to the same network.

I performed another factory reset, carefully following all the steps, yet the issue persists.

Since I cannot afford any downtime, even for an hour, I had to order another TinyPilot.

Please assist me with this as soon as possible.

Hi Vishank, thank you for your message. I'm sorry that your TinyPilot device has stopped working.

A factory reset usually fixes an unresponsive device, so we must investigate further. Potential explanations could be a network issue, a faulty microSD card, or a hardware failure.

As a starting point, can you please try one more factory reset and let me know what the green activity light (next to the red power light) does when you power the TinyPilot device back on? For example, it may light up constantly, flash in a pattern, or not light up at all.

I just attempted a factory reset on my TinyPilot, but upon powering it on, the green light doesn’t turn on at all.

There shouldn’t be any network issues, as the LAN cable is directly connected to the router. I tested the same LAN cable on another device, and the network works fine.

Regarding memory card, I tried using a spare one, but the issue persists.

              1. Thanks for getting back to me! Unfortunately, the lack of any activity shown by the green light suggests your TinyPilot device isn't accessing the microSD card when trying to start up.

One potential explanation is that the microSD card slot has developed a fault. As a workaround, you might be able to boot your TinyPilot device from USB. To do so, follow the factory reset process, but use a blank USB drive instead of the microSD card.

Can you please try booting your TinyPilot device from USB? If that doesn't work, please let me know, and I'll ask our customer support team to contact you to discuss options.

I have tried USB option before as this memory card was getting corrupted again and again, the USB boot option was very slow, the tiny pilot was lagging a lot, I don't want to go that route

FYI, I just tried USB boot option for temp work around until the new unit I ordered arrives, I am seeing the same issue happening with USB boot option

                        1. Thanks for confirming. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work. Your TinyPilot device will prioritize the microSD card over USB, even if the card is faulty. I appreciate it may seem obvious, but can you please confirm that you removed the microSD card before trying to boot your device from USB?

Can someone please respond? why is it taking days for a simple response?

                                  1. Thanks for replying. I appreciate how frustrating this situation must be. We've been replying within our typical response times, but I'll share your concerns with the team.

Unfortunately, it seems that your TinyPilot device has developed a fault that is preventing it from starting up. I've asked our customer support team to contact you to discuss repair or replacement options.
