Turning TinyPilot on and off

    Hello,

I understand how to turn the TinyPilot off through the web interface. But how would I turn it back on? I don't see a switch on the device to make this happen or anything on the web interface to turn it on.

Essentially I only want to turn it on when I need it. Is the only option to do this via a smart plug?

Hi @SWertqq, thanks for your great question about turning your TinyPilot device on and off.

Your TinyPilot device is a network appliance, like a router or Wi-Fi access point, and we recommend keeping it turned on all the time unless you have a specific reason not to, such as when you're relocating it.

If you've shut down your TinyPilot device, the only way to turn it back on is to disconnect and reconnect the power supply (or, if you have a PoE model, to toggle the PoE supply).

I appreciate this isn't the answer you were hoping for. Could you please let me know why you want to keep your TinyPilot device turned off by default, so we can better understand your situation?
