    Hello all,

I'm a newbie regarding TinyPilot, so please bare with me, I have an office that has 6 servers that i want to manage without needing to go to the server room or my boss can remotely(VIA VPN) manage from his home(different state).Would this be how i go about setting it up TInyPilot>HDMI Splitter> HDMI Switch> different servers(Servers only have VGA input)? Am i going to need a special kind of converter VGA to HDMI or can I use whichever one? can you recommend a good HDMI splitter?

If the server is powered off can I remotely power it on using TinyPilot?

Can I access the bios using TInyPilot?

    1. Thanks for your questions, Victor!

I have an office that has 6 servers that i want to manage without needing to go to the server room or my boss can remotely(VIA VPN) manage from his home(different state).Would this be how i go about setting it up TInyPilot>HDMI Splitter> HDMI Switch> different servers(Servers only have VGA input)?

An HDMI splitter wouldn't be the right component here. HDMI splitters can split a single input stream into one or more outputs, but you want the opposite - something that can accept multiple input streams and choose a single output stream to pass along to TinyPilot.

Some customers chain TinyPilot together with a non-networked KVM switch, and I've been curating a list of people's experiences with different KVMs:

Am i going to need a special kind of converter VGA to HDMI or can I use whichever one?

Most VGA to HDMI adapters should work, but the Foinnex is tested compatible with the TinyPilot.

If the server is powered off can I remotely power it on using TinyPilot?

You can if the server supports Wake on LAN.

Can I access the bios using TInyPilot?

Yes, you can. You have the same access as if you plugged in a physical keyboard and monitor.

          Michael,

TinyPilot>HDMI KVM should work? I looked on YouTube at on some reviews and a few reviewers were saying to use this product as a middle man https://amzn.to/3tifgdg, i planned on getting one of these HDMI KVM from your list https://www.newegg.com/p/1DJ-00NX-00002 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XKXTV5T/. If I don't need one the middle man then I'll just get the TinyPilot and the HDMI KVM.

          1. You really should only need the HDMI splitter if you're using an AIMOS KVM. The AIMOS KVMs have a design flaw where they backfeed power into the HDMI port and prevent the Voyager from booting. The HDMI splitter prevents the power backfeeding, but if you're using a non-AIMOS KVM, it shouldn't be necessary.

                Michael,

Thank you very much for the response, I know I saw it in another post, do you guys still take POs?

What happens after a the free year of update ends with Tiny Pilot pro?

                1. We take POs in certain situations. We've had some difficult experiences with them where the customer purchases via PO and then refuses to pay, so we've become more selective.

TinyPilot Pro always comes with a perpetual usage license, so you'll never lose access to your device or any functionality after your license expires. The license gives you continued access to new features and bugfixes, but if you decide not to renew, you keep all features and updates you received up until your license expires.
