TinyPilot Voyager 2a: What Are The USB Ports For?

Did a search and didn't find an answer. Sorry if this has been asked before.
Just got my device. Haven't hooked it up yet. Was wondering what the four USB-A ports are used for? Looks like two USB3 and two USB2 ports near the network connector. Can I connect ad hoc USB devices to them and get those devices passed through to the host?

I never used them because all data storage I needed I could use from the internal micro SD card. But you can use the USBs for plugging in external devices. I found this e.g.
