Rename TinyPilot in Device Manager - Monitors Section - Windows

    Can you please help me on how to rename the Monitor name to just "Generic Monitor" in Windows?

    Changing EDID dint help.

      Hi @a7673, thanks for your question.

      If you've changed your TinyPilot's EDID to the alternative EDID in our FAQ, your TinyPilot should start using the Toshiba-H2C identifier instead of TinyPilot.

      Windows seems to save older names, so you may need to manually update the identifier. We have some details on the steps you need to take in our FAQ that details how TinyPilot appears to target machines.

          Hi @david

          The below is what @cghague recommended and I tried it. Still doesnt work. Do you recommend to Update the EDID by disconnecting it and then reconnecting after the updating?

          or does factory reset will help?

          Post: Is it possible to edit the name that appears in the display settings?
